The United Democratic Front (UDF) has launched its statewide campaign march titled “Puthu Yuga Yatra” (New Era March), aiming to connect directly with voters and present its vision for Kerala’s future development. The yatra, flagged off by senior leaders, will travel through multiple districts, holding public meetings and interactive sessions to address local concerns and gather public feedback.

Party leaders said the campaign focuses on offering “practical and people-centric alternatives” to the ruling government’s policies. Key issues highlighted include job creation, price rise, welfare distribution, infrastructure development, and support for farmers and small businesses. The UDF also criticized what it termed administrative failures and financial mismanagement, promising transparent governance and stronger economic growth if voted to power.

Large crowds attended the opening events, with supporters carrying party flags and banners. Youth and women’s participation has been emphasized, with special outreach programmes planned during the tour.

The yatra is expected to continue for several weeks, covering both rural and urban areas, as the alliance seeks to strengthen grassroots connections ahead of the upcoming elections. Leaders expressed confidence that the march would energize workers and build momentum for the party’s campaign across the state.
