The Central Government has announced a comprehensive set of new measures aimed at strengthening employment opportunities and enhancing skill development across the country. The initiatives are designed to address evolving industry demands, reduce unemployment, and equip the workforce with future-ready skills aligned with economic growth and technological advancement.
Key measures include expanded funding for national skill development programs, with a strong focus on emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, electric mobility, healthcare, logistics, and digital services. The government plans to modernize Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and skill centers by updating curricula, improving infrastructure, and increasing collaboration with private industry partners to ensure job-oriented training.
To support employment generation, incentives have been introduced for startups, MSMEs, and large enterprises that create new jobs, particularly for youth, women, and economically disadvantaged groups. Apprenticeship programs will be scaled up, offering stipends and hands-on industry exposure to bridge the gap between education and employment. Special emphasis has also been placed on rural and semi-urban areas to promote local employment and reduce migration pressures.
