Bengaluru, July 29: The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced scheduled power outages in several parts of Bengaluru today to facilitate essential maintenance work by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL). The planned shutdown is aimed at improving the reliability of the city’s power distribution network and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply in the long term.

According to BESCOM, electricity supply will remain suspended from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM in areas under the C-7 Sub-Division of the Hebbal Division. The maintenance work will be carried out at the Kattigenahalli 66/11 KV substation, requiring a temporary six-hour interruption in power supply.

The areas expected to be affected include North Gate 1, North Gate 2, North Gate 3, Embassy and Philips Company surroundings, Dwarkanagar, Babanagar, the entire Kattigenahalli area, Bagalur Cross, Bagalur Main Road, Vinayaknagar, Manipal College, BSF Camp, and PDMS. Both residential neighborhoods and commercial establishments in these localities are likely to experience the outage.

BESCOM has advised residents and business owners to make necessary arrangements in advance by charging electronic devices, storing sufficient water where required, and planning essential activities before the scheduled shutdown begins. The utility has apologized for the inconvenience and emphasized that the maintenance work is necessary to strengthen the power infrastructure and enhance the reliability of electricity services across Bengaluru.
