The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of electoral rolls in Hyderabad has recorded only 9% completion of enumeration forms, prompting election authorities to intensify efforts to accelerate the verification process ahead of the upcoming electoral roll publication. According to Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudarshan Reddy, the pace of form collection remains slower than expected, and officials have been instructed to expedite door-to-door verification and public outreach across the city.
The Special Intensive Revision is being conducted by the Election Commission to update voter records, verify existing entries, and ensure that the electoral rolls remain accurate and free from duplication or ineligible names. As part of the exercise, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are distributing enumeration forms to households and verifying voter details, including residential status and supporting documents where required.
During a review meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer expressed concern over the slow response rate and directed district election officials to strengthen awareness campaigns and increase the number of field visits by Booth Level Officers. Officials have been instructed to ensure that every eligible voter receives an opportunity to complete the verification process before the deadline.
Election authorities have clarified that the revision exercise is intended solely to improve the accuracy of electoral rolls and that no eligible voter’s name will be deleted without proper verification and due process. They have urged citizens to cooperate with Booth Level Officers, submit the required forms on time, and immediately report any errors or omissions in voter details through the Election Commission’s official channels.
Officials are also encouraging voters to make use of online services for checking their electoral status and updating personal information wherever applicable. Special help desks and facilitation centres have been established in several parts of Hyderabad to assist citizens with the verification process and resolve grievances related to voter registration.
The Election Commission has reiterated its commitment to conducting a transparent and inclusive revision process to ensure that every eligible citizen is able to exercise their democratic right to vote. With only 9% of enumeration forms completed so far, authorities are expected to intensify field operations in the coming weeks to achieve comprehensive voter verification before the electoral rolls are finalized.
