The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warnings for several states as the southwest monsoon becomes more active. States including Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh are expected to receive widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds. Mumbai remains under an orange alert due to the possibility of intense rainfall and waterlogging, while Delhi has officially welcomed the arrival of the monsoon. Authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy showers, monitor official weather updates, and prepare for possible traffic disruptions and localized flooding.
