India welcomed Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi for high-level bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The visit focused on expanding cooperation in semiconductors, critical minerals, defence technology, resilient supply chains, clean energy, and investment. A large Japanese business delegation also participated in discussions aimed at increasing trade and manufacturing collaboration. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and agreed to deepen strategic cooperation amid global geopolitical uncertainties. The ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan reflected the importance of the India–Japan partnership. Officials believe the agreements discussed during the visit could create new business opportunities, strengthen technological cooperation, and support long-term economic growth for both nations.
