Social media videos showing hostel gaming nights, neon-lit setups, and esports competitions have gone viral online, turning some hostels into internet-famous youth hangout spots. Several content creators now collaborate with these spaces for livestreams and gaming events.
However, some parents and educators expressed concerns regarding gaming addiction and screen-time balance. Hostel operators say they are also introducing fitness areas, study zones, and community events to maintain a healthier environment.
