The Telangana government has announced a major plan to upgrade sports infrastructure in Hyderabad to international standards. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a high-level review meeting with ministers and officials to discuss the development of world-class sports facilities across the state. The government aims to prepare Hyderabad to host international sporting events and support India’s potential bid for the 2036 Olympic Games.

According to officials, several major stadiums in Hyderabad will be renovated and modernized. Important sports venues such as LB Stadium, Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Stadium, and Saroornagar Stadium will receive improved training facilities, seating arrangements, and upgraded infrastructure. The goal is to create stadiums that meet international standards and can host global competitions.

Another key part of the project is the establishment of the Young India Sports University. The university will include modern indoor and outdoor stadiums, athlete training centres, hostels, and research facilities for sports science. The government hopes that the university will help develop young athletes and strengthen sports education in the state.

The Chief Minister also discussed Hyderabad’s role in India’s Olympic ambitions. He reportedly spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the possibility of Hyderabad becoming one of the host cities if India wins the bid to organize the Olympics in 2036. Officials believe that improving sports infrastructure now will help athletes perform better at international competitions in the future.

Experts say that these investments could transform Hyderabad into a major sports hub in India. The project is also expected to encourage youth participation in sports and create employment opportunities in sports management, coaching, and infrastructure development.

Overall, the government’s plan reflects a long-term vision to make Hyderabad a center for global sports and athletic excellence.
