Several districts in Kerala are experiencing a noticeable rise in daytime temperatures as summer conditions begin to intensify across the state. Weather officials have reported that temperatures in many regions have climbed above the usual seasonal average, leading to warmer days and increased discomfort for residents.

Districts such as Palakkad, Thrissur, Kannur, and Kozhikode have recorded some of the highest temperatures in recent days. In certain areas, daytime temperatures have reached around 35–37°C, which is higher than the normal temperature range for early March. The combination of strong sunlight, dry winds, and reduced cloud cover has contributed to the rise in heat levels across the state.

Authorities have advised the public to take precautions to avoid heat-related health problems. People are encouraged to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours, and wear light and comfortable clothing when outdoors. Health officials have also warned that prolonged exposure to heat may lead to dehydration, fatigue, and other heat-related illnesses, especially among children, elderly individuals, and outdoor workers.

Farmers in some parts of the state have expressed concern about the impact of rising temperatures on crops. Higher temperatures can affect soil moisture and crop growth, particularly in areas dependent on regular rainfall. Agricultural experts are advising farmers to adopt water-conservation techniques and proper irrigation practices to protect their crops during the hotter days ahead.

Despite the rising temperatures, weather experts say that isolated light rain or brief thundershowers may occur in some parts of Kerala in the coming days, which could provide temporary relief from the heat. However, overall summer conditions are expected to gradually strengthen as the season progresses.

Officials continue to monitor the situation closely and encourage the public to remain cautious during periods of extreme heat. As summer advances, residents across Kerala are preparing for warmer days while taking steps to stay safe and comfortable.
